How To Take Effective Notes
1.
Don't just copy his notes from the board - listen to what he says and
make your own notes. This way you're hearing, summarizing and making
notes - all of which will help you remember.
2. Don't try to write whole sentences - much better to write down a heading for each topic he covers then make bullet points under each heading.
3. Don't write down anything you don't understand - put your hand up and ask him to make it clearer, then write a note about it.
4. Don't make so many notes that you're not really listening to what's being said - listen, make a brief note, then listen again - this way you won't miss anything.
5. Afterwards, read through your notes and use a highlighter to highlight one or two important words in each point you've covered. You could use a different color for each topic covered.
In my opinion these are the best way to take notes.
