Lab 5 Reflection Filters

What occurred in this Lab was using the use of the filter gallery in Photoshop cs6. The purpose being to create different effects for the same photo's except for that one portrait. 1 portrait picture will be liquefied, and the other 5 photos will have various filters are the same picture. Chose 5 different filters for the 5 different images which was a picture of my younger brother, the first being Water color, then Palette Knife, next film grain, then Neon Glow, and finally water paper. Then I had to rasterize all the images in the layers so the filters applied to the images and the individual images itself would actually work and be compatible with the layer rather than the "smart object" which in my opinion is not all that smart. If there was space, which there was I wrote all my filters names. Lastly where there was any space left, I wrote my name, date, class and lab number. Afterwards the project was done and I submit via Jupiter grades and Google Plus. by saving my work as a JPEG file, placed it on my new folder titled Lab #5 folder, and put my work in Jupiter Ed as well as Google Plus. This lab was mostly fun because not much work was put in to get great results. We used Adobe Photoshop CS6 like usual. This is relevant to web design because we're using Photoshop to make an image more interesting than it already seemed. I see this skill used in my future whenever I would need to make an image loom different but also at the same time keeps its structure.  I learned that I can change a picture using filters that would change the way its being expressed in a more creative way than just an original picture as that wont attract a person attention. Learning how to do this will help me express pictures in a more creative way that will attract people, like an advertisement and this can help me develop skills in the future if I ever want to create posters, website illustrations, design websites, terrace. However, creating this had come with some difficulties like deciding which pictures will have the greatest effect and a I think that a portrait of a person as the pictures are a good choice because of the complexity. The image isn't too shady in color that would be hard to see, but bright with contorts . If I didn't get help from Ms. Ramirez, I would've probably had a below average grade! But thank god Ms. Ramirez was able to help out, in the end it worked out and I completed it. this lab was really fun to do and I want to do more of these fun and creative labs in the future. I also want to say that I think I did a pretty decent job with this lab.

Reflection Upon Grades

1) Currently my average in visual design is a 92.3.

2) My best performance was is assessments, labs, projects, classwork, and engagement because I had 100 in all of those categories.

3) My worst performance by far was my homework grades, which are at a 40.5 percent, I would have done better in that if I knew exactly how to work with Jupiter ed link submissions, google plus submissions, and blogger post submissions.

4) The only things that I have that are missing are my homework assignments which I have completed however not exactly submitted correctly via Jupiter ed, google plus, and/or blogger.

5) Next time I will ask the teacher for help, view my missing assignments, complete them and submit them correctly, and know the exact prerequisites, criteria and deadlines of the assignment at hand. I believe that I will get better over time.
