Project 4 Reflection Questions

In this project what we had to create a silhouette with bordered words around it and a collage of a person that you admired. In my case I made 2 of them, however the one that should be graded is the one of my brother. I admire my younger brother because he is smarter than I am. He is at the age of 15 a year younger than I am. He was able to take many exams one of which was extremely memorable, the SHSAT. He got into Math, Science, and Engineering a specialized school. I have always admired him because I knew he was special, he was gifted. This is the reason why my brother was chosen for the person I admire. In the creation of the silhouette first I took his image and made a quick selection using the magic wand tool. After I got the selection I made the background blurred out using a surface blur. Next I placed a gradient on the selection; it was the blend between red, orange, and yellow. With that done my background was left, and I changed the gradient of that as well, a transparent green. Finally with the text tool and the path tool I created a path around my selection and wrote a description of my brother, concluding the silhouette part of this project.

For the collage I simply choose 10 photos to put into the final outcome all about things that my brother likes which is not that far off from what I like. In the collage I cut out the inside of the selection, next I pasted all the pictures and put them behind the collage template which I now have from emptying that space. Finally the last step I did was filling all the transparent spaces with images re-arranged and resized keeping all the rations intact with the nondestructive shift key. In my opinion this project was quite easy and fun to do. I had fun with this project because of how we were able to personalize it with much more freedom than other projects. I see myself using this in the future for creating memorable events, or even projects in school. This is a great way to really, “wow” the teachers or maybe even gain Extra credit. I was able to do a second silhouette and collage this time with one of my favorite song writers, Taylor Swift. I used the same process as before only this time I used google images which was much more fun because again there was much more freedom and a wide variety of choices!

New Years Resolution

3 days ago was so last year! Yep it's that time of year again, 'New Year, New Me!'. A great way to kick off any new year would be to set new years resolutions! Last year was a roller-coaster of laughs, giggles, fun times, and low times, never the less a great year because if you just so happen to set resolutions for that year it would be captivating to see how you have grown over 365 days! For me in particular  my goal for last year was to be more active instead of being so sedentary and static. The way I promised I would achieve this goal was by setting checks, for instance joining clubs, making new friends that were active and impelling, and not sitting in front of a phone or computer screen, taking hours and hours off my life! By setting the line down with these checks I was able to attain this goal quite easily, and I was able to reach my goal in just 3-4 months. The checks allowed me to join a rock climbing club, make at least 2 dozen new friends that like to travel around New York very often by subway at a scholarship program I currently go to, and Ive even learned to become less dependent on my personal devices and my computer. With my objective secured I feel great and perhaps even a little bit stronger, more mature but definitely more accomplished much like the nostalgic feeling of crossing off an item from your, 'to do list', even the slightest and most minor tasks grant instant gratification.
However as yet another New Year goes by another resolution must be made. My new New Years resolution solely focuses on 2 aspects; task number one requires me to focus more on my responsibilities and number two, get serious! Responsibility is extremely important, and there is no way I can stress this fact enough, but it is the gateway to how well you do in anything work based, skill related, or even house hold tasks also it is a big part of growing up into a mature adult it is the ability to think before making a decision. It is important to take responsibility for ones actions and avoid blaming everything on someone else, just as it is important to protect your family and provide for them maybe some time in the future. What this means for me currently, in my primitive state is to learn how to take control of my own education at an early age so that in the future I end up where I want to be. To hold my self accountable for this goal will certainly not be easy but I must make sure I continue to make 'to do lists', I think that this is a great way to keep myself accountable because it prepares me for the bigger tasks like studying, or taking control of how well I want to preform on exams and how much time I am willing to spend when I am dedicated. The second focus on my New Years resolution is to get serious about education. This is a looser goal that I want to keep more generalized for the sake of not stressing out but even though I am only in the 10th grade I want to start thinking about the SAT and regents exams. I mean if you think about it its about a year away but you can never be to careful when it comes to ensuring that your education is one hundred percent secure. No one wants to fail anything, no one truly wants to struggle for something that they don't deserve so why not prepare ahead of time? These 2 New Years resolutions are very important to me as you might already be able to tell and if I don't achieve these by the next New Year, lets just say it would be the worst let down of 2016 for me!
