In the "Image Adjustments Lab", we adjusted the image of a dog owned by Mrs. Ramirez, named Lancelot and created and constructed various different "kinds" of the dog using the image adjustment modifiers, which are, brightness, contrast, levels, curves, exposure...etc. First, the picture has to be only the dog as many duplicates have to be made (at least 5) and there can't be any background colors on the dog. the way to remove all the colors at a quick and accurate pace is by using the quick selection tool to only select Lancelot and not any other background images. There is still outside colors on Lancelot, so we have to refine the edges so that the colors present are only from Lancelot. After we finished making Lancelot have no background colors, we made duplicates and went to image adjustment and experimented with all the different types of image adjustments, such as Brightness/Contrast, Levels, Curves, Exposure, etc. All of the layers have to be named by the image adjustment so that everything is neat and we know which dog is changed by each image adjustment. The duplicated Lancelots' could be anywhere on the picture. The dog could also have been depicted as flying! Creativity was key in Lab 3 and how we did it matters as it shows how detailed and zesty we could be using the tools. This is what I did in Lab 3 and how to cut a specific part of the image in addition to image adjustments. I see myself using this in the future by creating specific color outcomes of my desired choice.

Reflection Lab 2

For our first project, the melon head lab, we used the application Adobe Photoshop CS6. In this lab we went to went to jupitergrades and opened up the file LB2 Base JPG. I saved this photo and then went to photoshop and clicked on file and then place. I placed the LB2 Base JPG. After this I had to cut each piece of the photo, the Melon, blueberry, macaroni, carrot, kiwi, pear, mushroom, radish, and orange/ orange peel, by using the lasso tool, rectangular marquee tool, elliptical marque tool, magic wand, quick selection, polygon lasso, and magnetic lasso. Since we had a short amount of time to accomplish this lab, I used the tools I believed would help me make a great selection and help me finish on time. I used the elliptical marquee tool to cut the melon, blueberry, kiwi, and carrot because these subjects have circular edges. Therefore, to make it easier for me, I used the elliptical lasso tool and if I wanted to make the circle more circular I held my finger down on the shift key while dragging the mouse. Then I used the magnetic lasso on the radish and orange peel, the magic wand on the orange and pear, and the quick selection tool on the mushroom. We had to cut these subjects from the original file and make sure we select them carefully without leaving any white spaces/ edges. This project was a bit difficult for me, due to the amount of time we had. Especially because it was the first time we were experiencing using some of the tools in photoshop. Also, it turned out a bit difficult for me because by mistake I deleted my project and since I did not save my work beforehand, I had to start all over. However, even though I faced this problem, it did not stop me,  the following day I got busy and worked very hard and fast to finish the project in a decent way. Additionally, I found this project very fun to do because it was the first time I was using the wand. I had the most fun when I was rotating the fruits/ vegetables, trying to use my creativity. I do not believe I used my whole creativity due to me rushing, but I am proud of the work I did, I could have done better. As a result, after doing this lab, I learned how i should use my time wisely and learned how we have to save our work, taking a notice in the actions I make. I know this well help me make my preceding projects better in the future.

 Picture File Formats

JPG- JPG is a file extension for a lossy graphics file. The JPEG file extension is used interchangeably with JPG. JPEG stands for Joint Photographic Experts Group who created the standard.

RAW- is an image file format used by many high-end and professional digital cameras. RAW files are considered to be the best form of image file, since it does not process the picture, leaving total control of the editing to the user. RAW file size is much larger that .JPEG files, but is slightly smaller than .TIF files.

PNG- (pronounced ping as in ping-pong; for Portable Network Graphics) is a file format for image compression that, in time, is expected to replace the Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) that is widely used on today's Internet.

BMP- format, also known as bitmap image file or device independent bitmap (DIB) file format or simply a bitmap, is a raster graphics image file format used to store bitmap digital images, independently of the display device (such as a graphics adapter), especially on Microsoft Windows and OS/2 operating systems ...

GIF- or Graphic Interchange Format, is a file extension for an often animated raster graphics file and is the second most common image format used on the World Wide Web after JPEG. GIF uses the LZW compression algorithm and is owned by Unisys.

TIFF- is a computer file format for storing raster graphics images, popular among graphic artists, the publishing industry, and both amateur and professional photographers in general. The format was originally created by the company Aldus for use in desktop publishing.
